A Tale of Two Trails
Can’t get away long enough to pedal the whole Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal? Here’s a great little weekend getaway, A Tale of Two Maryland Trails, that lets you experience both trails. We thought 35 miles per day would be a comfortable pedal but you can do more or less each day with our supported bike tours. Whether you’re a novice just starting out or an experienced trail rider, we can adjust this package to meet your needs. Your stay will be at our B & B, The Inn on Decatur, at the confluence of the C&O Canal and the Great Allegheny Passage in our charming city of Cumberland, Maryland.
Pedal, Pedal, Pedal
This trip is designed for the peddler who likes to be on the move. If 55 to 70 miles a day is your pace, then this trip is for you. Even at this lofty pace, evenings will be filled with good meals and relaxation. A hearty breakfast will provide the energy needed for each day’s pedal. Enjoy the challenge and charm, all in one trip.
A Pleasant Pedal
Pedaling anywhere from 27 to 42 miles a day, our A Pleasant Pedal package is designed to allow enjoyment of scenery and attractions along the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal. From Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater to the Civil War history of Antietam Battlefield and Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, there is so much to see and do along the way. Each small town and city boasts its own particular character and charm. With no rush and no fuss, this trip is truly just a pleasant pedal GAP Bike Tour.
